Curses and maledictions, the Maledicta are generally targeted at a specific person or the business or land that they hold. The rituals of the Maledicta are still taught to those who desire to learn them despite their questionable legality, as they are the curses most useful to those wishing to make statements or ruin their enemies via magic. Some of them are remarkably useful for dealing with the cultist forces, as well, making them a valuable tool even if you aren’t interested in cursing your fellow Veilwalkers.

Roleplaying Effects
All curses have accompanying roleplay effects. If you are ever under the effects of a curse, you are not required to roleplay those effects every second that you’re cursed — our rule of thumb is to roleplay the curse as much as you can, so long as it’s still fun for you to do so. Once it’s stopped being fun, your character can “hold back the curse” or something similar, temporarily ignoring the roleplaying effect until you feel like roleplaying it again.
