This odd flower isn’t closely related to a thistle at all, instead seeming to be a distant cousin of the rose. It has a coating of fine thorns all along its stem and on the edges of its leaves, and after it is pollinated it grows a seedpod at its tip that resembles a mix between a thistle’s flower and a blueberry. The seedpod it is named for has a number of uses in alchemy relating to fortifying the body and mind.
