A seemingly-endless expanse of ocean, densely studded by sandy islands covered by bizarre coral life-forms. What would normally fill the ecological niche of trees are instead strange hard-shelled anemones with green frond-like tentacles that absorb sunlight. The ground is covered by a thick moss-like pad of algae, and the creatures are either terrestrial squid-like beasts or some bizarre amalgamation of crab and mammal. The “crawns,” little crab-rat things that proliferate across the isles, are considered a delicacy by many in Sundland. Sea-based resources are widely available to those brave enough to delve into the water, but the beasts dwelling in the ocean are lightning-fast swimmers and voraciously hungry, always happy to make a meal of the foolish and unprepared diver.
