If you see a potentially unsafe situation that other players should be made aware of, call out “Caution!” and point it out, either verbally or physically. This can include things like calling “Caution! Glasses!” when someone loses their glasses during a fight, “Caution! Slippery footing!” if there’s an area of slick grass or mud that you’re worried about people slipping on, or anything similar.

If you hear the Caution call, pay attention to what the person making it is pointing to. If it’s not near you, you don’t need to worry about it. However, if someone calls “Caution! Glasses!” right next to you (for example) then you should stop fighting and help the person find their glasses so that the eyewear doesn’t get stepped on in the melee. If someone calls out “Caution! Slippery footing!” and points to a space near you, try to avoid it and, if you see other players about to walk into it unawares, echo the call so that other nearby players are aware of the issue.

In general, if you are responding to a Caution call in good faith and trying to keep other players safe, you can ignore hits and negative conditions; you can break character to let anyone attacking you know that there’s a Caution situation, and that your character is not in combat at the moment. Abuse of this immunity for personal benefit will be considered abuse of the rules.
