Make this call when you strike a character or creature’s limb or body. If you hit the head, neck, or groin of a humanoid target this call has no effect.

If the target is a humanoid and the place you struck them was not protected by either Medium Armor or Heavy Armor, they suffer one of the following effects depending on where you struck them:

• Limb: The limb you struck is Maimed until it is restored (whether via the Restore call or some other method) or the target Respawns.
• Body: The target is reduced to 0 Hit Points and begins Bleeding Out.

Non-humanoid targets may suffer Maiming or Hit Point loss differently, but usually will still take a large amount of damage from such a blow if they are not heavily armored.
