We’ll be posting new content and changes here as they happen. Check back to see what’s new since you last looked!
January 6 — Capstone Ability Expansion
- The existing high-level Abilities have been rebalanced, and 10 new Capstone abilities have been added.
- Rules for Capstone abilities have been added at the top of the Abilities page.
- You can only have one Capstone ability. It shouldn’t be mathematically possible to ever get multiple capstones given their CP requirements, but just in case someone figures out a way, this rule is in place to keep that from happening.
- The Thaumaturge ability has been added to the Mage Abilities section of the abilities page.
- The Mage’s Warding spell has had its casting time reduced to 3 seconds, down from 30 seconds.
January 4 — Miscellaneous Updates
Combat Rules
- The Hold call has been updated to allow anyone to use it. If you see something unsafe occurring that demands the combat around it to stop, please don’t hesitate to call out Hold!
- The Execute call has been modified to make it clearer to those nearby when it is being used.
Elves
- The “Textual Madness” language has been removed from the game; building a roleplay system around that was proving too difficult and time-consuming, so a mechanical system has been put in place in its stead, alongside codifying the “one free Old God text translation per event” rule. If you are playing an Elf, please read the revised rules text to update yourself on how it works. Textual Madness rules may make a reappearance at some point, but for now they’re on the back-burner.
Rituals
- Enticing Scent Of Ambition has had its Ritual Power increased to 30, and its casting time increased to 5, to match other similar divination rituals.
- To Read The Undecipherable has had its text changed, allowing Elves to “pre-cast” it rather than waiting until they have a pile of texts at the end of a Confluence.
Crafting
- Vallaros’ Blood has had the amount of Shivering Crow and Ashbloom required to craft it reduced to match the Total Resources number listed for it.
- What were the Magic Item Lists and Magic Items pages have had their titles changed to Enchanting Formulae Lists and Enchanted Items
Strategy Layer
- The math for how a cultist cell spawns has been tweaked: it is now based on a 4d30 roll instead of a 6d20 roll, to flatten the bell-curve of results. In addition, there is now no longer a double-spawn option; multiple cells will now only spawn in a Region if there are multiple rolls that exceed its Stability.
