Dubbed the “city of bones” long ago, Misto Kistok is the name that Tomarrans use for Helisanke, what used to be the capital of Dread Helicalis, Helikhar’s empire before the Godswar and the final rebellion ruined it. The “bones” that the ruin is named for are actually crystallized remains — the strength of Calcification is so powerful in the city and its vicinity that any would-be treasure-hunters must get in and out very quickly, lest their joints freeze up and keep them within the city for all time. The buildings of the city that remained standing after the final cataclysmic uplift of the Perdition are still remarkably intact and pristine, seeming to ignore the erosive effects of time. Treasure-hunters who go deep into the city can still find wandering shades filled with motes of Luminium and Aether, and those with the right equipment can arduously carve off chunks of Adamant from the architecture of the city. Few dare, however, as the Calcification is said to grow stronger each time an adventurer enters the city, and few are willing to risk that particularly agonizing death.
