Rahama’s Voyage Between The Stars

This ritual allows you to send a message to any entity you know the name of, no matter their location in the world or in any of the Heavens, Hells, or Far Realms.

When you perform this ritual, you must state the name of an entity you wish to contact, and provide a written message of no more than 500 words to Wheelhouse for the NPC to receive. The name can be anything that the entity answers to and considers to be “theirs,” and is not restricted to their True Name or any similar unique moniker. If you are uncertain if a name is specific enough, using an object that is metaphysically linked to the recipient as part of the ritual will usually guarantee that the message will reach them.

The magic of the ritual allows the recipient to send a reply. At the end of the next Round of Downtime, usually around the same time that the Winds Of Change are released, you may receive a reply from the NPC, if they wish to send one.

Before you perform this ritual, you are encouraged to check with Wheelhouse to see if the entity you are naming is a valid target of this ritual. If they aren’t, your character can feel that the ritual will fail before they get far enough into it to consume any Aether Crystals, though they won’t be certain exactly why.

Note that, while it is possible to contact and maintain correspondence with souls of the deceased once they reach the afterlife, their experiences in the afterlife leave them increasingly untethered from the mortal sense of time. Thus it is rare for this method of correspondence to work for very long before the departed soul stops sending meaningful replies.

Prismatic effect: If the mages performing this ritual have amongst their number mastery of both the Oruunari and Alethian Prismatica ritual lists, the Ritual Power for this ritual is reduced to 15.
