Reshape Arcanite

You can use Gemcutting Lore to reshape a piece of Arcanite. Make a Gemcutting Lore check against a DC equal to 10 plus 5 per Tier of the Arcanite (i.e. the Tier of the crystal itself, not the Powers it grants):

• Critical Success: As per Success, but you can increase the Tier of one of the Powers granted by the Arcanite by +1.
• Success: Choose one:
  • You redistribute the Tier values of the Powers contained within the Arcanite, allowing you to reduce the value of one or more (to a minimum of 0) and increase the Tier of others by the same amount. The total Tier value of the Powers granted by the Arcanite cannot increase through this process.
  • You change one of the Powers granted by the Arcanite, substituting another that you know the Crafting Formulae for, at the same Tier as the one you’re replacing.
• Failure: You make a mistake in carving the crystal, but not a bad enough one to impair its function or magics. Any further attempts to Reshape that piece of Arcanite take a -4 Penalty. This Penalty stacks if you Fail repeatedly.
• Critical Failure: The crystal is badly damaged, reducing the total Tiers of Powers that it grants by -2, split between your choice of its Powers.

Once you Critically Fail, Succeed, or Critically Succeed at an attempt to Reshape a piece of Arcanite, it cannot be Reshaped again without destroying it.
