Overview
- There are two distinctive approaches to combat in the Kingdom, mostly matching up with the differences between Rivelin and Cairnfolk cultures.
- The Rivelin approach to combat and warfare is that of the shining knight and peasant levies, using massive blocks of lightly-equipped and frequently poorly-trained fighting folk to pin an enemy down so that the elite knights can smash through their formation.
- The Cairnfolk approach disdains the massive and poorly-equipped blocks of peasant levies and focuses more on using a moderate number of veteran Galloglaich fighters to hold the line and wade through the enemy’s forces while Reivers act as skirmishers to nip at the enemy’s flanks.
- The Kingdom uses both as needed, with the best commanders skillfully blending strategies that leverage the strengths of each unit type.
