Tradition’s Suffocating Weight

You target one Enterprise with this ritual; the Curse Card must be delivered to the Enterprise’s owner for the ritual to take effect.

This ritual can only target a Military Unit or Congregation.

The target Enterprise loses -8 Levels. At the start of each Conflux, this penalty is reduced by 2. The effects of this ritual last until the Level penalty is reduced to 0, until you choose to remove it, or until the curse is broken.

You can overcharge this ritual; for every +10 additional Ritual Power you use when you perform the ritual, the targeted Enterprise takes an additional -2 Level penalty.

Roleplaying Effects

The target feels incredibly contrary about everything around them. When their companions want to go one way, they will insist that they all go the other. When someone suggests that they try a new food, they refuse simply to be difficult. The curse is especially strong when the target feels like they’re expected to do things “because that’s how we’ve always done it,” which makes them feel like they’re being horribly oppressed and smothered. The curse is a passing compulsion, however, and not a true change of personality; the target often quickly realizes that their emotions are being affected by the curse, though whether or not they apologize to those they’re interacting with depends on their normal disposition.
