You sharpen your arcane senses, seeking to perceive any magical auras around you
Casting this spell requires a Referee to be present. When you cast the spell, tell the Referee that you are doing so, and they will attempt to point out any locations, creatures, or objects that are magical that are in sight from the spot in which you cast the spell.
This does not reveal Alchemical Items, only the presence of Enchanted Items and other actively magical effects such as Sorceries or Curses. It does not give you any details on what those magical effects are or what they do, only their presence and location; to learn details about a magical aura, use the Read Aura spell.
Sometimes the spell doesn’t work with perfect efficacy, as auras can be concealed, faint, or simply overlooked. What the Referee reveals to you is entirely based on what they know about the location/creatures/objects in the vicinity and what they can gather with a quick survey of surrounding PCs, NPCs, and other Referees. You cannot and should not expect them to do an exhaustive search of the area to locate and report all such magical auras to you.
The spell’s effects fade immediately after you cast it; it only provides a brief burst of insight, not a continuous and long-lasting effect.
