You target a corpse or a collection or container of edible food or drink (up to 15 Bulk total per caster’s Tier) adjacent to you with this ritual. The target will not rot, decay, or lose any magical potency for 24 hours.
This does not kill any bacteria, fungi, or other microorganisms within the affected material, only puts them in temporary stasis. This ritual also does not grant resistance to any kind of magical rotting or decay effect, only to effects that are caused by natural processes.
The Revivify ritual ignores any time spent while a corpse was subject to this ritual for the purpose of calculating how long a creature has been dead, allowing for a creature to be resurrected well after the normal 72 hour time limit has elapsed with continuous application and reapplication of this ritual.
A corpse under the effects of this ritual can be Harvested repeatedly without losing its magical potency. However, each attempt to Harvest a given corpse increases the Base Harvest DC by a cumulative +5 for any subsequent attempts to Harvest it, as you risk damaging the parts of the corpse that you’re trying to extract.
Repeated uses of this ritual refresh its duration to 24 hours, rather than stacking on top of the previous application’s duration.
You can perform this ritual once per Long Rest for each Proficiency Boost you have in Cooking Lore.
