Staves

A Stave is a two-handed Implement that is between 42 and 78 inches long.

A Stave must be a weapon that looks like a quarter staff or mage’s staff; it cannot have a hammer or axe head or otherwise resemble a polearm, spear, or other hafted weapon.

You must wield a Stave with both hands in order to deal damage or cast Spells through it.

See the Ritual Stave page for details on Staves that do not need to be LARP-safe and can be used by any mage, regardless of whether they possess the Abjurer ability.

Who Can Use A Stave

You must have the Abjurer ability to wield a Stave.

What You Can Do With A Stave

You can cast Spells through a Stave while you are wielding it, either when attacking a target or empowering an ally.

You cannot use Techniques such as Cleaving Blow with a Stave unless it is enchanted to let you do so.
