Symbols

• Bats; specifically a bat in front of a crescent moon, but any bat symbology works.
• New and crescent moons; again, the exact symbols are very loosely-defined, but Zur seems to enjoy the light of the crescent moon and the darkness of a night with a new moon.
• A hooded cloak wrapped around an empty shadow; this is the most common symbol in religious artwork, though few of Zur’s followers use it as a holy symbol on their persons — it’s too clearly a pledge of allegiance to the Saint of Secrets, which defeats the purpose.

Summary

Some say that Zur is a fragment of Zunakhar, a shard that grew sapience and worked with mortals long enough to be recruited by Oruunos as a Saint. Others say that they were the greatest spymaster the world has ever seen. Still others insist that they are a Spirit, risen out of the mass of secrets festering throughout a corrupt kingdom’s court.

Nobody knows for sure, and that’s how Zur prefers it. They believe that knowledge is power: that to survive and grow in power you must seek out secrets that you can leverage for your own benefit, and carefully hoard what you learn, keeping it safe until you can make use of it or trade it for the highest price you can get.
