You gain this condition when you have been wounded repeatedly or seriously enough that you are completely unable to fight and are close to death. You are knocked Prone and Unconscious, if you weren’t already. While you are Dying, you are bleeding out or otherwise at death’s door.
Dying always includes a level.
You die if your Dying level ever reaches 6. See the Revivify ritual for what to do if that happens.
You lose the Dying condition if your Dying level ever drops to 0. When you lose the Dying condition, your Wounds increase to 1, you regain consciousness, and your Wounded level is set to 3. (Note that normal people and many creatures remain Unconscious even after losing the Dying condition, only waking after they are healed via magic or recover Wounds naturally; PCs are extraordinary in this way.)
While you are Dying, you must attempt a Recovery Check at the start of your turn each round to determine whether you get better or worse, rolling a CON check (with no Proficiency Modifier except your Tier) against a DC of 20, with the following results:
Your Dying level increases by +1 if you take damage while Dying, or by +2 if you take damage from a Critical Hit.
While you are not suffering from the Venom condition, your Dying level decreases by -1 if you are affected by Lesser Healing, or by -2 if you are affected by Greater Healing.
