Gronenden

The Gronenden is a massive bowl-shaped valley carved out of the southeastern-most chunk of the mountains of Iskaldur, and is the only region of the nation where large-scale agriculture can even approach the bounty of some other nations’ agricultural heartlands. Though the valley is much smaller in scale than the Rothlin river valley of Rivermark or the Blackwater river valley of Aurendale, its farms and grazelands have historically kept it from suffering the worst of the hunger pangs of Iskaldur’s frigid winters, leading to it being one of the cultural hubs of the nation. In modern times, the Jarls of the Gronenden have worked together to share what bounty they have with their fellows elsewhere in the nation, doing their part to ensure that Iskaldur remains strong on the world stage no matter how bad the winters get.
