The great northern wall of Iskaldur, Nordenveig traces the northern coast of the peninsula from the eastern edge of the Endless White in the west to Osterna in the east. It is the coldest part of the peninsula, with regular blizzards blowing in from across the Summertide Gulf and frequent assaults by frigid elemental Spirits of cold and hunger. The Nordenvolk who dwell in the Province are considered the hardiest and most resilient of Skaldings, doggedly extracting food from the earth and sea during the short summer and matching their own rage and strength against the elemental fury of the Nordenveig winter. Some of the best Skalds originate from the Nordenvolk, the bleak beauty of the region sparking a talent for songs and Sagas in the people as they’re cooped up during the long, dark winters.
