The province of Throneport is named after the island-city of Throneport, which the Vauldan Empire made their capital during their Occupation of the Archipelago due to its central location at the heart of the Archipelago. After the Betrayal, the newly-formed Admiralty swiftly coopted the island’s bureaucratic and physical infrastructure for itself, and it has become a booming hub for the Alliance’s economic and military activity in the centuries since. Though Throneport was once covered in jungle, in modern times its entire surface has been turned into a sprawling and sometimes ramshackle mix of urban structures and parkland. The few green spaces left are either reserved for the richest and most politically-connected Captains and Commodores or used by the Admiralty as training and relaxation areas for its staff and military. It’s left to the surrounding islands to supply the capital with herbs and food, which they are happy to do with a significant markup in price. The rest of the Province’s islands have been mined for their lodes of gold and silver so much over the millennia that the jungle covering them is patchy at best, and cannot produce much in the way of timber or other forest resources.
