These concoctions are oily substances that can be applied to a weapon, and inflict their effect on the next enemy the weapon strikes. Most follow the rules for Weapon Oils, though one is a Potion used to Repair items that have been Shattered, and another is a tailored antidote for the two deadliest venoms that can be brewed with these formulae.
Weapon Oils are viscous, sticky substances with potent blood-borne toxins imbued into them, derived from the Venomous Oils formulae list. When smeared onto a weapon, they afflict the next target that weapon strikes. Unfortunately, all such concoctions have very short half-lives when exposed to open air, becoming inert within a minute of being applied to a weapon.
To apply an Oil to your weapon, you must use 3 seconds of appropriate roleplay to pull out the vial and smear its contents on the weapon. After this process is complete, you must make the appropriate call on the next strike you make with the weapon that hits a target’s body or limbs. The Oil’s magic dissipates after an hour or when you pass through the Godscore Gate.
If you intend to use either of the Thendros’ Kiss or Soulblight Oil items, you must get a Referee to adjudicate your application of it, having them witness you applying the Oil and striking your target with it. Once they have witnessed you successfully applying either of those venoms to a target, the Referee will hand the target the appropriate Poison Card.
