Winter Hall

Sometimes affectionately called the “Little Grimm,” the Winter Hall is the northern quadrant of the Queendom, and is covered in dense coniferous forests with a swathe of frigid tundra in its western quarter. The weather and climate are unnaturally cold for its latitude, which is attributed to the presence of Ferukhar’s Talons, a series of great stone obelisks left over from before the Godswar. The Miirfolk who live here are often perceived as cold and aloof towards the rest of the nation, but they are no less loyal to the Queen than their more southern fellows, and are just as likely to put their energies towards the safety and security of the Queendom.

The frigid climate has driven home the importance of planning, preparation, and patience to the folk who live within the Winter Hall; a failed harvest in the Spring or Summer Halls may not lead to a famine, but in the Winter Hall it very well might, and they have learned to always have a second string to their bow and another plan in place should something go wrong. The folk of Winter are crafty and skilled in making things, as well as welcoming of visitors who bring gifts and payment for hospitality. The region’s economy thrives on the industry and crafts of its inhabitants and the frequent tourists who journey there to enjoy the cooler weather and see the magical sights of the Frostgrave and Am’harc Observatory, and perhaps get their fortunes read by the skilled diviners who dwell in the region.
