The Province of Fjallaheim, or “mountain-home,” is the most rugged of Iskaldur’s many mountainous regions; what little flat land exists has been fought over by the Skaldings for centuries, if not millennia. The valleys that criss-cross the region are steep and densely covered by forests, making them very difficult to traverse without knowing the paths and trails that wind through the trees and occasionally through the mountains themselves. Dwarven Halls riddle the mountains, younger than those in Dvarghavn but many still ancient by modern standards, and famous for producing some of the finest silver and Mithryl on the Continent.
The folk who dwell here are hardy and ferociously independent, secure in their mountainous home and notoriously resistant to taking orders from outsiders. Those who live near the ocean are well-known as some of the best shipwrights in Iskaldur, turning to the sea when their rugged homeland would not produce what they needed to survive. The folk from the northern reaches of the Province are all-too-familiar with the dangers of the Endless White, but are also the most likely to be mad enough to venture out onto the glaciers in search of treasure and hunting trophies.
