The eastern-most of the Iskaldur Provinces, Osterna also includes the island outpost of Ostrakar, where many Skalding longships dock for resupply before sailing to ports beyond Tomarr. Though the weather is frigid much of the year, Osterna’s eastern plains are able to produce surprisingly bountiful crops during the short summer growing period. The soil is regularly fertilized by ashfall from the Eldvindr volcano that looms over the region at the far eastern edge of the mountains, and the folk of the area hold festivals every year honoring the Spirit of the mountain for its regular and relatively gentle eruptions.
